Round one at Hyderabad belonged to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR); the same fate ensued in the round two in Kolkata. While KKR will draw solace from the fact that they have beaten Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) both the times this season, SRH have a reason to smile because they finished with decimals above the side from east. However, all of this counts to nothing when the side meet each other in the Eliminator contest. Good news for KKR is that Sunil Narine is back in form and ahead of the game, he said, “Gambhir scores a lot of runs here and hopefully we can put up a good total.” Yes, Feroz Shah Kotla is the ground where Gambhir plays most of his cricket and he knows the conditions better than most. However to negate the Narine, Gambhir threat, SRH also have local boy Shikhar Dhawan in their ranks and not to forget the wiry and wily Mustafizur Rahman. It is also the home city of KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan. The track at Delhi looks unusually green, so it will be tricky. Gambhir has won the toss and elected to bowl. Andre Russell is not fit and misses out the crucial game. KKR have made interesting changes. They have dropped Shakib Al Hasan and Ankit Rajput in place of Rajagopal Satish and Morne Morkel.
The David Warner-led SRH also made two changes by dropping Kane Williamson and Karn Sharma, and replacing them with Ben Cutting and Bipul Sharma.
The clash of the two feisty left-handers is about to begin, stay tuned in this space to enjoy live updates and the best tweets from the cyberspace.
