SRH won the toss and opted to bowl first on a wicket which looked good for seam bowling. Their bowlers did a commendable job in chipping early wickets with the new ball and further putting the pressure on the opposition. Bhuvneshwar Kumar scalped the prize wicket of Martin Guptill in the very first over and was well supported by Barinder Sran who the pick of the bowlers. Sran bowled magnificently and chipped in with three crucial wickets. Rohit Sharma fell short of his ground and threw his wicket away at a crucial juncture.

Ambati Rayudu proved his worth and with a tenacious fifty and bailed his team out of crisis. Krunal Pandya played a magnificent knock of 49 from just 28 deliveries and helped his side in posting a respectable total. the total wasn’t convincing enough but provided the kind of start they got it was a decent score.

Chasing 143 is never a cakewalk against the bowling attack of MI. Tim Southee steamed in and got rid of Shikhar Dhawan in the very first over with a beautiful in-swinging yorker.  Moises Henriques stuck to his guns and got a good start but failed to capitalise on it  as he was dismissed for 20. Warner didn’t let his game get affected by the fall of wickets and kept piling runs with his fearless strokeplay.

Eventually, Warner played a determined knock and remained unconquered on 90 from just 59 deliveries which contained seven boundaries and 4 sixes. Deepak Hooda made a decent contribution with his 17 runs from just 9 balls.
