It has not been a happy outing for Sri Lanka in Europe so far. The Angelo Mathews-led Sri Lankan side lost the Test series to England 2-0 and now will play Ireland in two One-Day Internationals (ODIs). Ireland, who have been vocal against 10-team cricket World Cup, have been given a pathway to still make it but lack of fixtures is making it difficult for them. What they can do is make use of their opportunities.
Ireland have beaten big sides like England, Pakistan, and West Indies in global events like World Cup and they will look forward to give their best against a struggling Sri Lankan side. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka are outright favourites and will look for a chance to stamp their authority and make a statement ahead of their ODI series against England.
