Jonty Rhodes thanks Atapattu for suggesting a magnificent weekend venue

Former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes is considered to be one of the finest fielders the world has ever produced. His inception in international cricket has hiked the fielding standards to a great height. Rhodes was a marvel in the field and entertained millions of cricketing fans with his fantastic fielding and athleticism. If fielding has reached such level, it is principally because of Rhodes’s jaw-dropping moments on the pitch.

In this recently ended Indian Premier League (IPL), Mumbai Indians (MI) lifted the coveted trophy for the second time in IPL history and once again Rhodes played a big part as the fielding coach. After IPL’s conclusion, the South African was immediately snapped up by the Sri Lankan Cricket Board (SLC) for a short period to improve the fielding as Sri Lanka are slated to play Pakistan next month.

After a hectic schedule in India, Rhodes hoped for mini-vacation in Sri Lanka. He got the place to spend his weekend when he thanked Sri Lanka’s head coach Marvan Atapattu from his official Twitter account for suggesting him ‘Apa Villa’ in Galle.

With Sri Lanka to host Pakistan next month for three Tests, five One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and two Twenty20 Internationals (T20), the Board will hope that the players learn some new techniques from the evergreen Rhodes.
