Kevin Pietersen takes a dig at ‘buddy’ Ahmed Shehzad for trying MS Dhoni’s signature helicopter shot

Kevin Pietersen is known for his shenanigans off the field, he’s an amusing cricketer who entertains his fans and followers with a flurry of shots on the field and whimsical nature off it. Pakistani opener Ahmed Shehzad made a comeback into the side and made an impact in his first game as he scored a tenacious fifty before being dismissed while attempting a stroke which he hasn’t mastered in. Shehzad was comfortably batting on 52 off just 38 deliveries when he tried to play Indian skipper Ms Dhoni’s patent helicopter shot for a maximum to a short delivery from Sabbir Rahman. He failed to get the middle of the bat and couldn’t get the timing right because of which the ball landed into the safe hands of Mahmudullah at deep mid-wicket.

On this occasion, Pietersen decided to troll his Quetta Gladiators teammate in the Pakistan Super League. Pietersen posted a picture of his team Quetta Gladiators on his official Facebook handle and wrote, “Love seeing the good guys do so well! Well done yesterday, @iahmadshahzad! Top batting but leave the helicopter shots to MS & I! You could have got a 100! Not bad for someone who went selected in the first place.”

However, Shehzad played a good hand as Pakistan won the game by 55 runs but the match will be highly remembered for the shot attempted by Dhoni. It is one of the most difficult strokes to execute and there is hardly any batsman in international cricket who does it as neatly as Dhoni.
