Sri Lankan crickeer Lahiru Thirimanne tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend Rukshani Harischandra on Wednesday.
Thirmanne met Rukshani much before becoming a cricketer. Speaking to The Nation, Thirmanne said, “Both of [us] were in the same tuition class during the A’ levels. I first saw her during the chemistry class. Thereafter we got to know each other and then it turned to love.”
The Sri Lanka Cricket official Twitter account wished the couple.

Rukshani is a teacher at Sujatha College in the Matara district of Sri Lanka.
“Our affair did not begin recently. I became a cricketer by chance. She chose to be a teacher after going through her education. But we have the blessing of both families. With those blessings we remain close to each other.”
