The result of the much anticipated Twenty20 International (T20I) series between India and South Africa is out now and with India losing the series, the third T20 in Kolkata today is going to be a dead rubber. The inconsequential match though will still have plenty at stake for the Indians, as they play for their pride and some may also play for their places. The final game of the series might see changes in both the teams. The Indians will look to try out their bench so as to figure out the best winning combination. Proteas on the other hand may test their bench strength by resting a few seniors and trying the youngsters. They will however not like to compromise with their winning momentum and look to continue with their domination and extend the victory margin.
The series so far seems to be a story of paradox for the Indians, for it is impossible to think that a team that scores nearly 200 in the first game, bundles out below 100 in the second game. They will look for some solace from the final game and will most likely give Ajinkya Rahane, Stuart Binny and Amit Mishra a game. There have been calls for Rahane to be included, who’s being ignored at the cost of Ambati Rayudu, who is yet to open his account in the series. On the whole, it promises to be a good contest, as both the teams will try to win this encounter before the all-important One-Day International (ODI) series begins, for the win here may change the course of the ODIs.
