It was in 1992 when the last time the 50-over World Cup tournament was staged Down Under. It was the first time the tournament was played with white balls and teams sporting colourful jersey. The tournament saw South Africa coming out of exile. It’s been 23 years and a lot has changed since then but the passion and energy for the World Cup never is down.
It was a World Cup of innovations and in two days the cricket’s mega event begins and promises a lot of excitement. Melbourne city will witness various cultural performances from parts of world. The Australian Cricketers has already arrived at Sidney Myer Music Bowl. Australian performers like Jessica Mauboy, Nathaniel and Daryl Braithwaite will be entertaining at the opening event. Spectacular fireworks will displayed.
