The Asia Cup T20 2016 finally opened with a bang on Wednesday, with the title favourites India piping the hosts Bangladesh. There were speculations that the match might be affected by rain, but thankfully, the rains stayed away and we were presented with an exciting contest. Indian team dashed millions of Bangladeshi hopes when they beat the hosts by 45 runs in the opener.
The tournament now progresses as defending champions Sri Lanka take on the team that emerged victorious after a closely-fought qualifying round, UAE, in the second match on Thursday. Sri Lanka, who also are the title holders of ICC World T20, are going through a rebuilding phase after the retirements of their stalwarts Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene.
UAE, on the other hand, are pumped up after beating all the teams in the qualifiers, including Afghanistan. They will look to continue with the momentum and not just make up the numbers in the main round. Live streaming is available for the game and it can be seen online.
