The 18th game of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2016 is scheduled to be played between Barbados Tridents (BT) and St Lucia Zouks (SLZ) at Bridgetown. There is little that separates these two teams, as both are languishing towards the bottom of the table. While Kieron Pollard-led BT are at the fourth spot, Darren Sammy-led SLZ are placed at the last spot in the league standings.
BT were expected to do well than their current standing, especially with the likes of Pollard, AB de Villiers, Shoaib Malik among others in their ranks. But they have crossed the finishing line on only two occasions in their five games.
On the other hand, Sammy’s SLZ too boast of some big names in Shane Watson, Mike Hussey and David Miller among exciting local talent. But still they are at the bottom. The only comforting factor for them is the fewer number of games they have played as compared to others (3, as compared to 5, 6 and 7 by others).
Expect a cracker of a game when these two teams take on each other in a bid to express themselves and improve their league standings. The match will begin at 19:00 PM local time on July 17 and 4.30 AM IST on July 18 and will be live streamed on Sony LIV.
