After an inspiring win at Indore last week, India squandered the opportunity to take lead in the series when they lost the plot during the later stages of the fourth One-Day International (ODIs) at Rajkot. Cruising at one stage, when a win looked like a formality, India succumbed to an 18-run defeat. At Chennai, they find themselves in a do-or-die situation as South Africa lead the series 2-1.
India have dropped Umesh Yadav from the squad for the last two ODIs and have drafted in Sreenath Aravind, who made his international debut in the first Twenty20 (T20) between these sides earlier in the month. It will be interesting to see if the left-arm pacer is included in the side or not.
From South Africa camp, JP Duminy’s absence will mean a big blow to the visitors and it’s highly likely that all-rounder Chris Morris will get a game. Here are the probable XI for the Chennai game at Dussera.
India (likely XI): Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni (c) (wk), Suresh Raina, Axar Patel, Harbhajan Singh, Amit Mishra, 10 Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohit Sharma.
South Africa (likely XI): Quinton de Kock (wk), Hashim Amla, Faf du Plessis, AB de Villiers (c), Farhaan Behardien, David Miller, Chris Morris, Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel, Kagiso Rabada, Imran Tahir
