If England think life would be any easier in Wellington than Melbourne, they are mistaken. In their first two matches of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, they have probably played the two toughest opponents, who are co-hosts of the competition and extremely difficult sides to play especially at their own backyards. ICC Cricket World Cup 2015: Full Coverage
New Zealand go into the match as favourites and with two wins from their two matches, they comfortably sit at the top of the Pool A table. However ahead of this crucial tie, Kiwi skipper Brendon McCullum did have some kind words for his “good friend” and counterpart Eoin Morgan, the English captain. McCullum said, “Tough times don’t last, but tough blokes do. He’s a champion player. He’s one of my better mates from around the world in terms of cricket.”
While McCullum will hope for “tough times” to still last on the “tough bloke” in the windy city of Wellington, Morgan will look to draw some inspiration from McCullum’s words and turn the tables for England. Both the teams have played 77 ODIs so far, with New Zealand winning 38 and England 33.
Here we present the pick of the tweets for this encounter:
