The six-team Masters Champions League (MCL) is finally underway. The Twenty20 (T20) tournament featuring retired legends of the game opened with a star-studded ceremony, followed by the Gemini Arabians – Libra Legends clash, which was won by Virender Sehwag’s Arabians. Sourav Ganguly, who was supposed to lead the Legends, pulled out of the league at the last hour due to back spasms.
Day two will see double header, with the first one being played between Capricorn Commanders and Leo Lions and the evening match being contested by Virgo Super Kings and Sagittarius Strikers. The match will be played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium with Graeme Smith and Adam Gilchrist leading the Super Kings and Strikers respectively.
A host of former players like Brett Lee, Adam Gilchrist, Mahela Jayawardene, Jonty Rhodes, Shane Bond, Mohammad Yousuf besides Smith and Vettori will take field during the match, which will begin at 9 PM Indian Standard Time (IST) and will be telecast on Sony Live.
