Nothing gets more intense than the India-Pakistan cricket rivalry. Playing and excelling against the arch-rivals is the dream that cricketers on both the sides of the border wish to live and Pakistan Test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq is no different.
Misbah is in twilight of his cricketing career. The 41-year-old has played 58 Tests and has amassed 4000 runs at an impressive average of over 48. Already into his 40s, the prolific batsman knows that his playing days are numbered.
He recently spoke about his retirement plans from cricket and life post-retirement. He wishes to bid farewell to international cricket in a Test series against India which is likely to take place in the end of this year. However, post the Gurdaspur terror attacks, the chances for the series look very bleak and even Anurag Thakur, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary, confirmed the same.
In an interaction with PTI, Misbah said, “I know very well that there is not much cricket left in me. Yes, I want to play a few more Test matches as I look forward to life beyond cricket. If the series against India happens, I want to play that series and probably retire from international cricket. So India series can be my last one.”

Taking the current scenario into consideration, it seems that Misbah might have to wait longer for the series to take place.
