Mohammad Hafeez was one of those few Pakistani cricketers, who had opposed Mohammad Amir‘s selection in the side. When he dropped England skipper Alastair Cook off Amir’s bowling on Day 2 of the Lord’s Test between England and Pakistan, he was ought to be criticised. The hype was over Amir’s Test comeback but the first day of the match ended with Misbah-ul-Haq iconic century. Pakistan ended the first day of the match with 282 with the loss of six wickets and on the next day, they were all out for 339. Also Read: Big Nas is back! With the start of England’s batting, all the eyes were Amir and as expected he was given to bowl the very first over. He didn’t do that well as it was expected to be and in his first three overs, Amir conceded 19 runs. When Amir came to bowl his fourth over, which is also the seventh over of England’s batting, he almost got the wicket of Cook, a man who had implied that spot-fixers should have been banned for life but thanks to Hafeez, who was at first slip, dropped a simple chance. (Hope, it’s not Amir’s Pankaj Singh moment in this Test)

It was the fourth ball of the over, which was very well channelised by Amir with just outside off on good length and Cook gets a thick edge while pushing it for a drive. Hafeez at first slip dropped, which should have been taken. Also Read: With Lord’s hundred and 10 push-ups, Misbah-ul-Haq keeps his promise to Pakistan army
