It’s raining sports biopics in Bollywood. While Milkha Singh’s was a super-hit in the box-office, Priyanka Chopra received a lot of accolades for her portrayal of Mary Kom. It’s time for cricket now. While the Emraan Hashmi starrer Mohammad Azharuddin’s biopic is set to release in May 2016, the date has been set for the much talked about MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. There have been a lot of speculations going on for the movie and the first teaser appeared in September 2014. Actor Sushant confirmed the same on Sunday through a tweet.

The film is being directed by acclaimed filmmaker Neeraj Pandey of A Wednesday, Special 26 and Baby fame. Actor Sushant has been practising very hard for the film and earlier had got him injured while emulating the helicopter shot. He had fractured his ribs and was out of action for more than three weeks. Sushant, who has played cricket at a good level, has also been trained by former Indian stumper Kiran More to polish his wicketkeeping skills. Fox Star Studios have collaborated with the Rhiti Group for the film and the story will talk about Dhoni’s humble beginnings at Ranchi before he went on to be a national icon.
