Sky Sports, the official broadcaster for cricketing action in the United Kingdom (UK), are known to come up with interesting viewer engagement activities from time to time. From All-Time XIs to creating a world record of highest catch ahead of England – Pakistan Test series, they tend to get involved in activities which attract attention. And now, Sky Sports have come up with ODI XIs. ALSO READ: Sachin Tendulkar to play under Ricky Ponting’s captaincy in Marcus Trescothick’s All-Time XI.
Their panellists for this activity were former English cricketers Nasser Hussain and Nick Knight, both of whom are part of the commentary team for the ongoing ODI series between England and Pakistan. The rules, prima facie, for the selection of these teams appear to be picking two teams; one for matches played in India or the Indian subcontinent and other for the matches in rest of the world. While former English skipper Hussain picked a side for matches in Indian subcontinent, Knight picked his riders for rest of the world.
The two teams have been loaded with some of modern day cricket’s biggest names. Both the teams were tweeted by Sky Sports’ official Twitter handle, where the two cricketers can be seen holding their respective team sheets.
Hussain’s XI (for India): Quinton de Kock, David Warner, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson, Steve Smith, Ben Stokes, Ravichandran Ashwin, Sunil Narine, Dale Steyn, Trent Boult.
Knight’s XI (for ROTW): Alex Hales, Aaron Finch, Joe Root, AB de Villiers, George Bailey, Jos Buttler, Mitchell Santner, Adil Rashid, Mitchell Starc, Kagiso Rabada, Mustafizur Rahman.
Well, do you agree with Hussain and Knight?
