Nathan Lyon becomes Australia’s most successful off-spinner as he went pass former Australian cricketer Hugh Trumble’s record of 141 wickets in 32 Tests. He achieved this iconic feat when he dismissed Kraigg Brathwaite for four runs during the second day of the second Test against West Indies in the Frank Worrell Trophy at Kingston.

Making his debut way back in 2011 against Sri Lanka, Lyon is playing his 41st Test and now has 144 Test wickets in his basket. Since his debut he’s been one of the prolific wicket-takers in Tests for Australia. Although, Shane Warne has been at the apex of leading wicket-takers list for Australia, Lyon has done a remarkable job for his side in the recent times.

In the first Test of the ongoing Test series, Lyon squared Trumble’s record Lyon as he picked a total three wickets in both the innings, Australia won the game quite comfortably by nine wickets.

Australia will now be eyeing for a whitewash as they are in a commanding position in the second Test. The hosts are eight wickets down in the first innings and are still trailing by 256 runs at the end of second day’s play. Australia will look forward to wreck more misery on West Indies by winning the contest.
