Rohit Sharma, who missed the fourth and final Test against Australia, after wife Ritika Sajdeh delivered their first child – a baby girl – took to Twitter on Sunday to announce the name of his daughter.
“I spent last night On the last flight to you Took a whole day up Trying to get way up Baby Samaira,” the 31-year-old Indian batsman wrote.
Along with the tweet, Rohit also shared a picture of the family with Ritika holding the infant, who was born in Mumbai last week.

Meanwhile, the BCCI had announced that Rohit will join the side on January 8 when the team begins their preparations for the three-match ODI series which gets underway on January 12.

Rohit and Ritika tied the knot in December 2015. In the first Test in Adelaide, Rohit scored 1 and 37 while in Melbourne the 31-year-old managed 5 and 63 runs. He missed the second match in Perth due to injury.
