The first Test of the series between Zimbabwe and New Zealand will be played at Bulawayo. It has been more than 20 months since Zimbabwe played a Test. The last Test they played was against Bangladesh at Chittagong in November 2014, which they lost by 186 runs.
Zimbabwe finally they are given this chance to play a Test but they have an uphill task against the strong New Zealanders. This will be the Test first series for both Graeme Cremer and Kane Williamson as captain for their respective sides. Also, this will be the first Test series to be played in Zimbabwe since August 2014.
Zimbabwe’s record has been very poor against New Zealand as they have never registered any victory against this team. So far, they have played 16 Tests against each other and New Zealand won nine, while seven matches have ended in a draw. Zimbabwe skipper Cremer has won the toss and elected to bowl first.
