One thousand four hundred and sixty two runs, five hundreds, 10 fifties, 137 fours and 60 maximum, and the IPL season is still underway. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have found two superhumans in AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli. While the latter has been phenomenal, notching up one record after another, RCB have also received immense confidence from the presence of the South African stalwart AB.
Riding on the success of these two gentlemen, RCB are on the brink of making it to the play-offs in the ninth edition of the IPL. Kohli, who had no T20 hundreds to his name before this IPL, scored four this season. He now has most hundreds in an IPL season and apart from Chris Gayle, no other cricketer has four T20 hundreds in a calendar year. With 865 runs, Kohli comfortably sits at the top and no other cricketer has breached the 800-mark in IPL. Infographic: Virat Kohli’s 752 and counting, the most in a single edition of IPL
RCB have one game to go, against Delhi Daredevils (DD), at Raipur and if they win that, they ensure they make it to the play-offs. Once again, the “Batman and Superman” as Chris Gayle calls the duo, will hold the key for RCB.
On the way to Raipur, Kohli shared a selfie with de Villiers on Instagram and wrote, ” Off To raipur with the most amazing person next to me @abdevilliers17″
