Australia will take on India in the first One-Day International (ODI) of the five-match series at Perth on Tuesday. Both the teams are scheduled to play five ODIs after which they will move on to their next fixture which is a three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series. Both the teams will be keen to win the first game of the series and gain a comprehensive lead further putting more pressure on the opposition. Live streaming: Australia vs India, 1st ODI at Perth
Undoubtedly, this will be an electrifying contest as both the teams will be meeting each other in an ODI game after ten months. The last time these two giants locked horns with each other was in the semi-final game of the 2015 World Cup which saw the home team defeating India convincingly.
Australia have some new legs into the side after a lot of their established players called it a day from international cricket. Unfortunately Mitchell Starc has too been ruled out due to a mistimed injury. Their hard hitting opener David Warner is also expected to miss majority of the series due to paternal leave. Though they have enough gun power in their cannon but all will have to step up against a well balanced Indian side.
For India, they have a well oiled side with their full fledged squad. At the very last moment their leader of the pace attack pulled a hamstring due to which he will miss the entire series. Most of their players seem to be in good form and will be fighting to make an impact at the start of the year 2016. Expect an encounter full of excitement as Perth readies to witness a dramatic clash. Meanwhile, we present you with the pick of the tweets:
