Cuttack gears up for couple of firsts. It’s for the first time they will stage a match featuring South Africa, and after having hosted 17 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and two Tests, the stadium is all set to host its first ever Twenty20 International (T20I).
India-South Africa T20I contests have favoured India most of the times but the visitors on Friday, once again showed why they are one of the top sides in world cricket.
India’s strength lie in their batting and they will look to continue their splendid display with the same. The bowling hasn’t really inspired confidence and as a result they have got in Harbhajan Singh. They have enough Indian Premier League (IPL) experience under their belt and that can prove to be the difference.
Good news for India is Rohit Sharma’s form. At Dharamsala, he became only the second Indian to score a T20I hundred. Usually, when Rohit is in form, he makes the best use of it. Ravichandran Ashwin will once again head the bowling responsibilities.
The South African camp have enough reasons to be upbeat. While it seems that AB de Villiers will continue to open the innings, the side bats deep with JP Duminy and David Miller coming in later. With one up in the series, South Africa are 40 overs away from sealing the T20I series, while the dominant Indian side will look forward to level it.
As the two top teams battle it out in the greens at Cuttack, Criclife presents you with the best of the tweets.
