Former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid has been approached by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to coach Indian cricket team. Dravid has a solid reputation as a coach as he did a commendable job with the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Dravid was instrumental during his playing days in the Indian cricket team and played a key role for almost 16 years. He was widely reckoned as ‘the Wall’ for his ability to stick to the grounds during crisis.

As reported by Cricbuzz, Dravid was asked by the BCCI advisory committee which hails of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman whether he had any future plans and will take up the coach’s role. He is one of the most successful Indian batsmen and has done a great job in tough conditions. According to the sources, if Dravid takes up the role, he would be given a long term contract which might go on till 2019 World Cup.
