The 101st edition of the Olympic Games has started with a bang at Rio de Janerio in Brazil on Friday, August 5. And even as four days have gone by, India still search for their first medal, which has remained elusive so far. While Abhinav Bindra came agonisingly close to the medal before finishing fourth, others continue with their bid to open India’s account at the sporting spectacle.

Day five of the Rio Olympics will see Indians participating in eight sports; shooting, archery, judo, women’s hockey, weightlifting, rowing, boxing, and tennis. India will pin its hopes on Jitu Rai, the world-cup winning shooter, Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna’s mixed doubles pair and women’s hockey team besides Bombayla Devi and Deepika Kumari in archery and Manoj Kumar in boxing. All these athletes will be in action on day five.
