Despite a poor string of scores, Rohit might still play in the XI for the remainder of the series, as the selectors completely believe in his ability. Rohit has scored only 81 runs in four innings of the first two Tests as India lost in both of them. Rohit averages a poor 21.69 outside India.

The third Test begins at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Friday.
