New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor, also known as Pallekele Plunderer will be probably called as Perth Plunderer from now on after his master-class of 290 against Australia at the venue. He surpassed English batsman Tip Foster’s 287, that he scored in 1903.
Taylor was looking very confident and was the last New Zealand wicket to fall. He fell 10 short of what could have been his maiden 300 and New Zealand’s second. He went for the slog-sweep off Nathan Lyon when he was caught. Taylor batted almost nine and half hours, faced 374 balls, striking 43 fours. Ross Taylor’s 290 at 11 interesting statistical milestones
His herculean effort will be remembered as one of the best knocks ever played by any New Zealand batsman. One should not forget the contribution of his partner Kane Williamson in the middle order, who batted with full control and scored 166 runs. Their partnership of 265 runs is the highest for New Zealand against Australia in Tests. Cricket fraternity across the globe acknowledged his knock and expressed their respect for this Kiwi batsman through their tweets.
Ross Taylor Epic 290 Whatever he did b/n Gabba and WACA he should replicate before every Test #Rocky3LikeComeback #EyeOfTheTaylor #AUSvNZ

Epic from Ross Taylor. Shame he didn’t make it to the triple but it feels like a matter of time until 400 is broken. #AusvNZ
