Sachin Tendulkar joins PM Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee in paying homage to Dr Kalam after the body is flown to New Delhi

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar on Tuesday paid homage to Dr APJ Abdul Kalam in New Delhi, where the former President of India was flown in from Shillong.

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar on Tuesday paid homage to Dr APJ Abdul Kalam in New Delhi, where the former President of India was flown in from Shillong. Dr Kalam collapsed during a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management, Shillong, and was declared dead on arrival to Bethany Hospital.

 

Kalam, who would have turned 84 in October, was one of most popular Presidents in the country. He held the post in between 2002 and 2007.

Tendulkar had earlier tweeted:

Along with Tendulkar, President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were among the many dignitaries who paid tribute to Kalam’s body after it was flown to New Delhi.
