This Graeme Pollock Gala Dinner will feature some of the biggest names in cricket over the past fifty years like Mike Procter, Barry Richards, Clive Rice, Shaun Pollock, Graeme Smith among others.

Graeme Pollock was on the brink of bankruptcy last year, when he incurred a loss of $250,000 in his brokerage business. He suffered a stroke, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and was also diagnosed with colon cancer. He sought help from the Cricket South Africa (CSA), but unfortunately the board did not have a policy of providing financial help to former cricketers and turned to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The evening will include a gourmet three-course meal with complimentary beer and wine. The gala dinner will also highlight the performances of some of the greatest cricketers in the last 50 years.

Graeme Pollock ranks second after Sir Don Bradman in terms of batting averages in Tests, playing 23 Test and scoring 2256 runs. The country’s isolation in the Apartheid era led to the end of his promising career.
