Fortunes of the Australian cricket team finally changed with the change of format as they beat Sri Lanka in the first ODI after a humiliating 0-3 whitewash in the Test series. The first match of the series, which was played at Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, was won by the visitors by three wickets. The second match will once again be played at the same venue.
Australians will look to carry the momentum from the win in first ODI into this game. For them, opener Aaron Finch, skipper Steve Smith, George Bailey and bowlers did well in the first game. The tourists would like to iron out the flaws and enter into the game, by winning which they can take important 2-0 lead in the five-match series.
On the other hand, the young Sri Lankan side was high on confidence after blanking the Australians in Tests. They had unearthed some serious young talent in Kusal Mendis, Dhananjaya De Silva, Lakshan Sandakan among others, who were the find of the series. The team would hope youngsters come good in limited-overs too. The match, which is expected to start at 2:30 pm IST, can be live streamed on OZEE and Ten Sports.
