Sunil Gavaskar criticises Ishant Sharma and Dhammika Prasad for the ugly spat

Ishant's heroics will surely make the billion plus nation happy but not the match-referee who in the previous Test has already fined him 65 percent of his match-fees.

Indian speedster Ishant Sharma was one of the side’s heroes in the series win in Sri Lanka. His heroics will surely make the billion plus nation happy but not the match-referee who in the previous Test has already fined him 65 percent of his match-fees. On day four, Dhammika Prasad bowled a couple of bouncers which Ishant left alone and had a smile for the Lankan pacer.  It was a nerve-snapping moment, it became hard on the eyes to see the spat between Ishant and the Sri Lankan players. Cricket great and now a respected commentator Sunil Gavaskar made a quote, which made it crystal clear that it did not go down well with him. One may say he belongs to the old school of cricket but who wants to see such events tarnish the image of the gentleman’s game. In a report from NDTV, Gavaskar said, “These are some of the scenes that you don’t want to see. The kids are watching and international players are role models. This is just a sport, which should be enjoyed.
