Runs may not be flowing from Suresh Raina’s willow but things still seem to going his way. The team that he is captaining in this edition of Indian Premier League (IPL), Gujarat Lions (GL), are roaring at the top of the table and there is more good news in store for captain Raina.
The IPL legend has not missed a single game since the tournament’s inception in 2008. He played eight seasons for the very successful Chennai Super Kings (CSK), before getting the opportunity to lead the Gujarat-based franchise following CSK’s two-year suspension. It is neither injury nor slow over-rate nor a disciplinary issue that will make him miss his first-ever. The southpaw is expecting to be a father soon. After beating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Raina confirmed that he is excited and set to fly to Netherlands on Monday to meet his wife on Monday. His wife, Priyanka, is an IT professional with a bank in Netherlands. On Mother’s Day, Raina in a very sweet gesture wished his mother and his pregnant wife through a tweet.

There is a possibility of Raina still playing the game if he is back, if not in all possibility Aaron Finch will lead GL in their game against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Saturday.
We wish good luck to Mr. and Mrs. Raina.
