ICC World Cricket League matches are not amongst the most-followed, but here’s a match between Argentina and Bahamas from Americas Region Division One played at Hamilton, Bermuda in 2010, that’s worth being mentioned for its peculiarity.

Argentina got off to a good start, thanks to a 95 run opening stand from the Paterlini brothers — Matias and Lucas. Lucas went on to score 138 and some frantic hitting by Donnie Forrester helped them reach a formidable total of 333 for five in 50 overs.

Bahamas-innings

Bahamas lost two quick wickets in response before Rohan Parkes and Marc Taylor got together. Parkes scored an incredible 59-ball 133. The duo added 197 for the second wicket at breakneck pace and were especially severe on the Argentinean skipper, Esteban MacDermott, who had to take himself off after conceding 72 in four overs. By the time Parkes was out, Bahamas had reached 213 in the 20th over.

They reached 332 for seven in the 32nd over, with just two needed to win. Narendra Ekanayake was then run out, and Jermaine Adderley was bowled first ball by Diego Lord. Jonathan Barry managed to score a run to level the scores, but got run out the next ball. Bahamas innings folded for triple Nelson with the match tied with 99 balls to spare.
