Injuries are a part of every cricketer’s life and probably the dark side of cricket. They often suffer from brutal injuries and on this occasion David Warner was struck by Steven Finn on the left thumb during the second One-Day International (ODI) against England at Lord’s. The injury seemed to be severe as he retired hurt and didn’t participate in the game further.

Warner posted a collaboration of his thumb images along with an X-Ray image on Instagram and wrote, “Very kind of you@finnysteve to break my thumb. Kids, keep your eyes on the ball. Sad to be leaving the tour early. It has been a tough summer. I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute besides not winning the ashes but we are currently 2-0 up and WC champions. Thanks to all the fans that turned up to watch both forms and sorry for those who purchased day four and five tickets and did not get to see any cricket. I look forward to returning ASAP. Good luck to our boys for the rest of the tour. #sore #GoAussies”

TRENDING NOW

Warner, the side’s vice-captain, won’t be a part of the touring squad anymore and his services at the top will be dearly missed. As on now, Australia can afford to relax as they are leading the five-match ODI series by 2-0. Hopefully, Warner recovers soon and is seen in action at the earliest.
