Threat of Hardik Patel led quota stir in Gujarat is looming large these days. And now the Patel stir has cast its shadow over the third of the five match One-Day International (ODI) series between India and South Africa.

The Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) has made it mandatory for people to provide an identity proof while purchasing tickets for the ODI to be held in Rajkot. The leader of the movement, Hardik had reportedly said that Patels would attend the match in large number in Rajkot to raise the reservation demand. This has raised serious security concerns, as Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel would also be present for the post-match ceremony during the match.

A PTI report stated that Rajkot police has made it compulsory for the spectators to provide identity proof while purchasing tickets. The report also confirmed that one person can only buy two tickets. Sale of tickets for the match that will be played at SCA stadium in Khandheri on October 18 is expected to start from October 12
