Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel celebrates maiden CPL title

The third season of Caribbean Premier League (CPL) ended with a new champion. The Trinidad &Tobago Red Steel won the thrilling final at their home ground with their rocking fans at Queen’s Park Oval by defeating the defending champions Barbados Tridents. It was Kamran Akmal and Cameron Delport who laid the foundation of win by scoring a half-century and later skipper Bravo played a quick knock of 29 runs and put a total of 178 for six on board.

In reply, Barbados Trident started well with their openers Steven Taylor and Dwayne Smith (49 off 30 balls). But the rest struggled as the Bravo’s and Company made life difficult for them. In the above video the T&T Red Steel team is seen celebrating their victory with the trophy. The T&T Red Steel team truly did a great job by winning six out of their last seven games, including the eliminator against the much-fancied Jamaica Tallawahs and Guyana Amazon Warriors. The CPL now has seen three different champions in that the three seasons so far.
