One of India’s greatest cricketers and the current limited-overs captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni turns 34 on Tuesday. Dhoni, India’s most successful cricket captain had a mixed 34th year. He led India to the semi-final of the World Cup 2015 but prior to that in December 2014, after the end of the third Test in Australia, he retired from Test cricket. In May, he once again led his Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to the tournament’s final.

This will be Dhoni’s first birthday as a father. In February this year, he was blessed with a daughter so there are a lot of personal joys attached to this birthday. The recent loss against Bangladesh in the One-Day International (ODI) series was a tough pill to swallow but nothing beats his massive fan following.

The social media is buzzing with Dhoni’s birthday wishes and is one of the current trends of the day. Many from the cricket world took to Twitter to wish the Indian captain.
