Indian opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan once again floundered with the bat in the ongoing second One-Day International (ODI) against Australia at Brisbane. This is the second consecutive time in the series so far that DHawan has failed with the bat.
The maverick left-hander has failed to rediscover his lost mojo with the bat which has taken a heavy toll of him. In the first ODI at Perth Dhawan got out for a mere score of nine and even today he only managed six odd runs. Pick of the tweets: Australia vs India, 2nd ODI at Brisbane
Dhawan looked good in the ongoing game but his tendency to go for wider deliveries made him pay a huge price. Joel Paris was putting in the hard yards when Dhawan was batting on six, he went to cut a wide outside off-stump delivery but was beaten by extra bit of bounce off the surface. The shot looked futile and needles given the situation which India was in. Matthew Wade didn’t make any mistake behind the stumps and caught a safe catch.
Social media heavily criticised Dhawan for this needless stroke which helped Australia drew the early blood. India have somehow recovered from the early damage as Virat Kohli along with Rohit Sharma are safely sailing the Indian ship out of choppy waters. Check out the best tweets here:
