Two legends, 1579 international wickets and one frame

In the 1990s, the cricket world saw some of the greatest fast bowlers in operation. Speaking of them, two men who would top many lists were Curtly Ambrose and Glenn McGrath. The fast bowling legends were recently playing for the Sachin Tendulkar-led Sachin’s Blasters in the All-Stars Cricket series. Both of them caught up again on Tuesday at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

The third day of the final Test between Australia and West Indies was called off because of weather but the two legends caught up. To delight of many cricket fans, they both embraced each other and Cameron Spencer form Getty Images beautifully captured the moment.

The third day of SCG Test every year is also observed as the Jane McGrath Day. SCG is dressed in pink and it’s a day dedicated to McGrath Foundation’s noble initiative of spreading awareness on breast cancer.

While McGrath is attendance was for the Jane McGrath Day, Ambrose is here as the bowling coach for the West Indies side. On their hey days, both these bowlers could dismantle batting orders at will. McGrath has 563 Test wickets at 21.64 and 381 ODI wickets at 22.02, while Ambrose has 405 in Tests at 20.99 and 225 in ODIs at 24.12.
