With the wicket turning square, batting has been very difficult in the ongoing Mohali Test between India and South Africa. Half way through the second day and already 21 wickets have fallen. Despite getting a paltry 201 on the board, India have sneaked out a 17-run lead. Thanks to South Africa’s miracle man AB de Villiers that the side came so close or else they would have been bowled out earlier. Live steaming: India vs South Africa 2015, 1st Test at Mohali
De Villiers scored an attacking 63 and Indian captain Virat Kohli was desperate for the South African’s wicket. Kohli knew that no wicket is as valuable than de Villiers and the elation could be seen when the latter got out to beauty from Amit Mishra.
Both Kohli and de Villiers play for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and share an excellent camaraderie. While de Villiers was grinding it out in the middle and Kohli getting desperate for his wicket, despite the heat of the moment shared a laugh. It all happened when Kohli fielding at short mid-on back-flicked the ball quite smartly to the stumps. However de Villiers who had his right leg rooted in the crease showed rapid reflex as he caught it before it hit stumps.
Kohli was well within his rights to be discontent and from de Villiers’ side; he could have let it go for an overthrow. But it was all done in fun and showed brilliant skills of these two gifted cricketers. Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) tweeted the incident.
Amidst all the action, @ABdeVilliers17 and @imVkohli share a laugh. #IndvsSA https://t.co/uYBquHIAyU
