Video: Barinder Sran’s maiden international wicket

Punjab boy Barinder Sran has been in the headlines since the last month. First for his surprise selection in the Indian limited over side and then for stunning the cricketing world by taking two quick wickets of Australian openers in his debut One-Day International (ODI).

It was a surprise when Indian captain MS Dhoni called the young debutant to open the bowling and stood with expectation by conceding only three runs from his first over. In the second over, Sran was hit for a boundary by Aaron Finch and on the very next delivery; he took his revenge by sending him back to pavilion with an amazing catch. It was the third ball of the over, Sran lands it full and outside off at 136.5 kmph and Finch tries to drill a drive, but the bat twists in his hand. He hits it back to the bowler. Sran gets both hands to his right and hangs onto the stunning catch.

With this catch, Sran become the eighth Indian bowler to take his maiden ODI wicket — caught and bowled. Just after the wicket, Sran was mobbed by his team-mates and a big celebrations all over for newcomer.
