Eyesight plays one of the foremost roles in cricket but in recent years blind cricket has provided the opportunity for visually impaired sportsmen to make a name for themselves. This form of the game is governed by the World Blind Cricket Council (WBCC) since 1996.

During a net session at Lord’s, England limited-overs skipper Eoin Morgan went through an ordeal like never before. He joined the England Visually Impaired squad for a practice session ahead of their upcoming series in Australia.

Morgan, one of the best players in white ball cricket, learned about the B1, B2 and B3 categories of blindness. The first category is being a state of complete blindness. This form of cricket is played with plastic ball containing ball bearings and delivered underarm. The rule is that the ball should bounce at least twice.
