Clearing the dreaded Yo-Yo test has become a vital criterion to break into the Indian cricket team. Recently, players of the likes of Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, Ambati Rayudu, Sanju Samson among others have become victim to its rigors and failed to make it to the national setup.
However, if two-time World cup winner Gautam Gambhir is to be believed, the test that has pushed some of the high-profile names in the Indian cricket circuit to their limits is nothing but a child’s play. Yes.
And he has proof of that as well.
On Sunday, on his Twitter handle, Gambhir posted a video of his four-year-old daughter Aazeen clearing the ‘Yo-Yo test’ and on a lighter note, tagged Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh in his post, asking for their opinions.
In the video, Aazeen can be seen clearing various obstacles, which is vaguely similar to how the real test is conducted.

Meanwhile, Sanju Samson has cleared the test and is back in the India A squad after being dropped for the England tour. On the other hand, Rayudu reportedly chose to give it a miss and thus his name was missing from the six squads announced by the BCCI for various tournaments on Monday.
The test has come under severe criticism from several players who think it shouldn’t be the sole criterion to judge a player’s fitness. Even Tendulkar has expressed his displeasure saying, “it should be a mixture of fitness and also looking at the ability of a player. I think the yo-yo test is important but also looking at the ability of the player and how fit or unfit the player is.”
