Cricket is a gentlemen’s game and the sport teaches us a pristine quality of sportsmanship. South African skipper Hashim Amla is considered as one of the most technically composed batsmen in contemporary cricketers and on this occasion he gave a testament of his sportsman ship too. During the ongoing Test between India and South Africa, Amla swept a delivery from Ravichandran Ashwin which brushed his gloves and went safely to hands of wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha. Amla knew he has gloved the ball and decided to make his way back to the pavilion even before the onfield umpire Ian Gould ruled him out.

It was a terrific display of honesty and sportsmanship from Amla. South Africa are in all sorts of trouble at the moment as they are precariously placed at 55 for the loss of seven wickets. They are still trailing by 160 runs and need a partnership out in the middle.

Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have bowled with immense confidence and exploited the conditions well. The ball is in India’s court at the moment and they will look to dominate the game and eye for a win to seal the series.
