A lot of fuss and controversy have been created in the Pakistani dug-out regarding the inclusion of speedster Mohammad Amir who has made a comeback to competitive cricket. The topic took a new turn all together when two Pakistani legends Mohammad Yousuf and Rameez Raja got into an argument over this issue during a TV show.

The duo attacked each other with some personal and inappropriate language during a show on Geo Super channel. The argument started over the discussion on Amir where Yousuf said that Rameez didn’t have enough knowledge about cricket and was a ‘Sifarshi’ (players who are selected on recommendation) player who could only be a good teacher.

Moments later, the argument took new heights and the situation was not in control of the anchor. Yousuf also made some personal comments Rameez to which the latter replied as terming Yousuf a ‘fake Mullah’.

The matter soon became viral on the social media and many pundits including former players expressed their grief over the offensive language used in the show. Also read: When a tearful Mohammad Amir offered to leave the Pakistani training camp

Rashid Latif was quoted over this issue in a report from PTI saying, “I have played with both these players. They are looked upon with respect by the fans. It does not pass on the right message to anyone.”

Rameez on the inclusion of Amir in the Pakistan training camp said, “My views are clear to everyone but this is a decision that the Pakistan Cricket Board has to take and only time will tell whether they took the right decision or not. I thought the PCB could have handled the Amir matter in a better manner.”

Earlier Mohammad Hafeez and Azhar Ali too refused to share the dressing room with the stained left-arm pacer but changed their minds when PCB chief Shaharyar Khan involved in the matter. Read: Mohammad Hafeez, Azhar Ali to return to Pakistan camp; to train alongside Mohammad Amir

Another Pakistani legend Shoaib Akhtar stepped up and tried to calm down the tide with this tweet:

Incidents like these are often termed as the dark days in cricket.  This in no way serves the purpose of the game and creates more confusion on the issue to be resolved. The youngster Amir has already paid for his mistakes and has now found support from legendary Imran Khan too. Does the youngster deserve more of this?
