VIDEOS: Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Anil Kumble wish Sir Garry Sobers on his 80th birthday

Sir Garfield ‘Garry’ Sobers, unarguably the greatest all-rounder ever and a living legend, celebrated his 80th birthday on Thursday. All the Caribbean islands, comprising the West Indies cricket team, came together to wish the great cricketer on the occasion. Team India too became a part of the celebration as coach Anil Kumble, skipper Virat Kohli and star batsman Rohit Sharma also gave their wishes through video messages. The Indian team is currently touring the Caribbean for a four-Test series against the West Indies and the host board made it a point to take their wishes on the occasion. The official Twitter handle of West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) posted video messages from Kohli, Kumble and Sharma. Indian Test skipper Kohli expressed his desire to meet the legendary West Indies cricketer. “Your (Sobers) performance on the field will always remain iconic and you were the very few who have changed the way the game is being played. Congratulations on a wonderful career and a life. It’s my pleasure to wish you on your 80th birthday,” Kohli said in the message. Besides Kohli, Kumble and Rohit, West Indian skipper Jason Holder also shared his wishes through a video message.
