Star Indian batsman and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper during the recently concluded season of Indian Premier League (IPL), Virat Kohli has had a wonderful year so far in Twenty20 (T20) format. The personal success notwithstanding, the titles have eluded him. Earlier, his marvellous knock in the ICC World T20 semi-final against West Indies went in vain and now his stupendous run throughout IPL 9 also could not translate into IPL win for RCB.
His fifty in the final against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) came in a losing cause but Kohli, who hates losing more than any other sportsperson, took it in his stride and maintained his composure. He congratulated SRH and spoke at the post-match presentation in a dignified way. On Monday, a day after the final, he took to Twitter and posted an emotional message to thank all those who were a part of his IPL journey; especially the fans. His tweets read:
Loved the IPL journey this year. Congratulations @SunRisers.
A huge thank you to @RCBTweets members, coaches & the support staff. (1/2)— Virat Kohli (@imVkohli) May 30, 2016
Thank you to all the fans who have cheered for us & supported us always.
I am indebted to your love. Thank You Bengaluru #RCBForever (2/2)— Virat Kohli (@imVkohli) May 30, 2016

Kohli will now take a much needed break from cricket as the second string Indian team led by regular captain MS Dhoni will travel to Zimbabwe to play a limited-overs series. Post that, Indian Test team led by Kohli will tour to the Caribbean for a four-Test series which will kick-start India’s busy and Test-heavy season.
