“Consistency is not perfection; it is simply refusing to give up.” The quote aptly describes India’s current best batsman and the Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper, Virat Kohli. In the ongoing edition of Indian Premier League (IPL), Kohli once again nabbed the Orange Cap and this time by striking a ton against Gujarat Lions (GL). What was more special is the fact that he registered the feat on the 43rd birthday of India’s greatest batsman, Sachin Tendulkar.
After losing four tosses on a row, Kohli won the toss against his India teammate Suresh Raina and elected to bat. His 100 not out guided RCB to 180 in their stipulated 20 overs.
