Cricket and Bollywood share an old bond as the players who put in the hard yards on the field do have a keen interest in movies. Virender Sehwag on this occasion opened up on his unfulfilled dream and took to his Twitter handle to express his glee.

Bollywood icons Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan have been roped in to work together for the first time in their careers for a movie named ‘Thugs of Hindostan‘, which will be directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya. The movie is expected to hit the theatres in 2018 during Diwali. Aamir Khan tweeted about the same:

As per Sehwag’s tweet, it is pretty evident that the duo is among his favourites and watching them on the silver screen together is certainly his wish. He tweeted, “Array Wahh! But too much to wait for 2 yrs to see my two favourite actors together.Any chances to prepone release ji.”

It is not just Sehwag’s dream but many movie buffs are waiting for this to happen. While Aamir is a brilliant actor who not only features in good films but also keeps the box office numbers spinning. In fact, his film PK, which released in 2014 end, happens to be the highest grossing Bollywood movie of all time. Meanwhile, Bachchan is regarded as the biggest icon of Indian cinema and in a career spanning in six decades, he has given the industry innumerable hits.

Apart from being abundantly talented, Aamir and Bachchan are also socially sensitive people which makes them being loved all around the globe. Yes, they love cricket too. Aamir’s Lagaan is probably India’s most recognised film while Bachchan’s appearance during cricket matches and his tweets about the same is well-known. Interestingly, both these icons haven’t featured together in a film.

Random Fact: Bachchan had hosted Aamir in the Kaun Banega Crorepati (Who wants to be a millionaire?) in 2000.

As two years seem to be a long time for Sehwag and he is always in a hurry either on the field or off it, he also requested to prepone it. The shooting for the movie is expected to start by next year.

Sehwag on the other hand, has been a keen follower of Bollywood and has often been spotted reciting many songs of famous movies. That is still common. What is not? He did it while he batted and dominated the proceedings. Believe it or not? It helped him keep his focus as he concentrated on getting the lyrics right.

The Nawab of Najafgarh has been on a wishing spree in the recent times and has encouraged the budding talents in the country. His second innings on Twitter has been as entertaining as his exploits with the willow.

TRENDING NOW

As of now, Sehwag and most of us are expecting the release of ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ with the same excitement. The earlier the release, the better it is. Hope Viru Pa’s prayers come true.
