India’s most popular boxer Vijender Singh won the WBO Asia Pacific Super Middleweight title by defeating the former WBC European Champion Kerry Hope on Saturday. The entire nation was cheering for this young lad and he had full support from the spectators at Thyagraj Stadium of New Delhi.
For the first time, the 30-year-old Indian boxer took 10 rounds to win a match and recorded his seventh straight win in the circuit. This was also the longest night spent by Vijender in the boxing ring. He scored 98-92, 98-92, 100-90 to win the match. Also Read: Cricket fraternity reacts to terror attack in Nice, France
On this occasion, India’s cricket fraternity wished him on his emphatic victory in pro boxing. Former cricketer Virender Sehwag was probably most delighted amongst former cricketers with Vijender’s win as he posted a video of the match and tweeted in his own typical Haryanvi style.
